This is a 15 minute documentary about the Munster Fusiliers monument recently erected in Ballymullen Tralee, Co Kerry. The presence of the monument has sparked controversy in the town of Tralee where deep tensions from The Civil War and War of Independence have arisen and been played out in the Town Council. I would like to thank most sincerely the following people without whom, this documentary could not be made. Councillor Toireasa Ferris SF, Councillor Sam Locke Independent, Mr Liam Nolan, Chairman of the Royal Munster Fusiliers Ireland and special thanks to the Gloaming Band whose wonderful music brings cohesion to the documentary

Grainne, Congratulations on your recent very well deserved award. Saw it in Kerry’s Eye today. Again many thanks for all the outstanding publicity you got us back in July when we celebrated the 150th anniversary of the trans Atlantic cable. We look forward to meeting with you again next year as we are planning some more events around the story. Anthony O’Connell, Valentia Island Development Co. December 2016
